UBERSTIX Sailboat

Full sails ahead! Use a recycled water bottle (that you provide) to build an actual working sailboat! The plastic water bottles make it float and the wind makes it sail. Set sail to go up wind or down wind. Tack and jibe, it's easy and fun. As part of the UberStix Science Project Series, a 3 to 4 hour lab sheet lesson plan is included that teaches the basics of sailing and the function of the keel and rudder. You can also modify your boat to create your own design; single hull, catamarans, tri-hulls... wherever your imagination takes you!

• UberStix can be used in a classroom or homeschool to create projects that teach the fundamentals of physics, math, aerodynamics, engineering and design.
• Create an UberStix challenge at home or in the classroom! Set a goal of what the design should accomplish (for example, create a sailboat that sails very fast), then let the kids create their own design. Compare designs to identify their strengths and weaknesses, then work on modifications.
