The Endless Landscape puzzle, called a Myriorama in the nineteenth century, is a set of cards picturing a landscape. The horizon matches on each card so that the cards can be changed in any number of combinations to portray different scenes. The Endless Landscape puzzle is based on one originating in Leipzig in the 1830s and consists of twenty-four sturdy cards, each showing part of a panoramic view. In whichever order the cards are placed, the result is a picturesque and continuous landscape. There are 1,686,553,615,927,922,354,187,720 possible combinations for this puzzle!

Creative Ideas to Try

What other things can you do with this product? We've included some of our "outside the box" creative ideas below to help get you started...

  • Adhere a small magnet to the back of each puzzle piece and put the puzzle on your refrigerator. A fun way for kids to play while you are busy in the kitchen. Perfect for filing cabinets or other metal surfaces, as well.
  • Cut a dozen index cards (recipe cards) in half, and encourage your child to draw their own endless landscape. A great lesson in symmetry and creativity. For detailed instructions, read our blog entry at Make Your Own Myriorama.
  • Have your child make up a story that explains what is happening in the endless landscape as they put the puzzle together. If you have several children, each child could take turns making up a story as they place their puzzle piece next to the existing pieces.
