Kids (and kids at heart) will enjoy building their own catamaran using plastic bottles. A great lesson in model building, physics, and recycling! Plastic bottles are recycled and made into the floats for this catamaran. A battery operated propeller powers the boat through the water. Make sure to see our ideas below for even more fun! 

You will need to supply two recycled plastic bottles to complete this project. Kit requires two AAA batteries (not included). A small screwdriver is also required (not included).

• Challenge a friend to a catamaran build project! Each person builds their own catamaran, but the challenge is to find interesting ways to enhance your model! Recycle other found objects from around your house to make your catamaran unique.
• Have a regatta in a pool! Race your catamaran with your friends. See who can get their bottle catamaran to race in the straightest line or who has the fastest model.
• Every boat should have a name! Use permanent markers to decorate the plastic bottle floats and to display the boats name.
