This recipe is guaranteed to make you smile.

What You Will Need:

  • 1/2 teaspoon Cold Cream or Face Cream
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon Water
  • Food Coloring
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Small Containers with Lids
  • Spoon
  • Small Paintbrush

What You Do:

  2. Add water drop-by-drop, stirring until the mixture is creamy.
You may not need all the water.
  3. Add food coloring one drop at a time until you get the color you like.
CAUTION: Don't put too many drops of food coloring into your mixture! Too much coloring can stain your skin temporarily.
  4. Continue adding food coloring for as many colors as you would like to make.
  5. Use your homemade paint to create designs on your face with a small paintbrush.
  6. Need to wash your face? Just use soap and water and you'll be back to being you.

Variations:

  • Face Paint can be stored in an air-tight container to be used again at a later date.

The Science:

The main ingredient in cold cream is typically a blend of water and various oils, including mineral oil or lanolin. Cold cream acts as a moisturizing base, ensuring the face paint glides on smoothly on the skin and stays put without drying out.

The cornstarch serves as a thickening agent. It absorbs moisture and gives the face paint the right consistency, making it easy to apply and helping it to stay in place on the skin.
