Synchronized Swimming in the Olympics is a combination of swimming, gymnastics, and ballet.
We have our own variation of the Synchronized Swimming Event...
CAUTION: Inflatable Pool Tubes are not life-saving devices. Adult supervision is required. This event is recommend for people who can swim. Life jackets are highly recommended.
What You Will Need:
- Inflatable Pool Tube Floatie
- Swimming Pool
- 2 or more Athletes
What You Do:
- Athletes enter the pool with an inflatable pool tube, and sit inside it.
- To begin the competition, each athlete must complete three entire rotations in synchronization with the other athletes. Athletes can decide ahead of time if they want to use their legs, arms, or legs and arms to spin themselves on the pool tube.
Variations:
- Allow athletes to practice this event before the competition. Expect splashing!
- Encourage athletes to choreograph their movements for the competition.
- Have one athlete be the leader and demonstrate to the others what move to make to complete a rotation. All other athletes must then imitate the leader to complete their rotations. The athlete who most closely follows the leader, wins the event.
